There was a stage where she cries everyday when we bring her to school. It is like separation anxiety starts all over again. She just cries when she reaches school but after some persuasion she is alright and enjoys herself in class. We do not know what happened in school and been playing the guessing game with her.
We even asked the teachers but they did not think that there is anything wrong with her in school. We thought that she might be bullied and does not know how to explain to us. But teachers did not realize anything, the girl just like to be the ‘big sister’ in class. We all think that it’s the after school thingy, cos things only happened when she is out of school on the way to the school bus. Although it’s a very short distance, she is upset by the girl’s actions. So we told her that it alright and just keep her distance from her but I guess she is still upset.
The next thing, teacher told us that she day dreams in class! We are all so shocked and started to think of all ways to talk her out but the suitation did not improved. After much discussion with my sister (who is a childcare educator), we realized that she might be bored with the things that the teacher is teaching. She might be looking for something more challenging and excited. We interpreted that she might be thinking that, hey I already know this, why teacher keep repeating. So we had a talk with the principle and told her to expose more things to Sherry. So she moved her to a higher class and now she is very happy to go to school. She no longer cries but sometimes she is still bothered with the girl.
Anyhow, we just want her to go to school happily.

27 Sept 2007 till 01 Oct 2007 (what a day to remember!)
Sherry was sick and was rushed to Raffles Hospital A&E on Sat (22 Sept) at about 3am. She was having fever, shivers and cough. The doctor on duty said that she just caught a cold and prescribed her with some medication. After about 1 hour of observation, he ‘discharged’ us and we went home tired and less worried. But our worry did not lessen by the day, as her fever is like yo-yo, up and down within the hour. Hubby took leave while I work from home for Monday. Come Tuesday I worked from home just to make sure that she has another round of medication. Since she is much better on Wed, we both went back to the office. But her fever hits the roof on Thursday and we decided to bring her to the pediatrician (Dr Veronica Toh) to have a check on her. After much checking, she dropped a bomb on us after taking the X-ray! Sherry is contracted with pneumonia and liquid in her lung’s lining and need to be admitted immediately, we’ll lose her if there is any delay! We are both in a daze when she kept assuring that Sherry will be fine once she is on the drip and also on antibiotics. But it never ever occurred to us that this will happened to her! She was still so active which the doctor is also unable to understand. To her experience, this is a very serious case for the kid to handle.Daddy went to see to all the admission matters while I stayed with her through out. She is so scared that she had clinked on me so tightly. She does not want anyone else except me or MIL.In the afternoon, Hubby went home to take all the stuffs for the stay, Dr Toh came over to start her on her drip and medication. Sherry screamed and cried her heart out! I almost wanted to cry with her but yet I have to be very strong for her to pacify her as well. From that point onwards, she is so afraid to see any stranger that come into the room. She started to cry whenever someone just walked in.Dr Toh dropped another bomb, from Sherry’s blood test, her blood is infected with some virus and at that time, she is unable to determine what is the type and if the antibiotics that she had given is the right type. I almost fainted how could this happened to my precious princess!!!!! She was kept in the cot for 1 full day due to the drip. We brought some toys and also some of her favourite shows to help her pass her time. She is happy so long as we are in the room with her.I pretended to be myself in the day but when come to the wee hours, I just keep crying non stop looking at my girl. My heart aches so much that how I wish I’m the one suffering instead of her!In blessing, Dr Toh mentioned that the antibiotic that she has been giving sherry is the right medication and we saw the improvement in her. She’s discharged on Children’s Day and she is happy to go home. What an ordeal for all of us. Daddy went home everyday around midnight, while I stayed with her throughout her stay and hardly sleep. It is alright for me so long as my princess is well. I don't even mind if I have to take the blame for not taking good care of my girl. We were accused of letting our girl to go thru all these by MIL! She thinks that she is the only one that feel the pain when she see Sherry going thru all these! HOW ABOUT ME! I went thru everything and even help the nurses and doctor to hold Sherry down when she screamed for help! Anyway all over and done with and she is recovering well.

Long overdue updates
It has been a long while ever since the last update. Lots of things had happened but there were no time to pen them down.
Update about Sherry
Decision to send her to Child care
She is getting on well with her classes at Tumble Tots. The only worrying thing is she as she is the only child at home, she tends to be very playful and is not paying attention in class. Teachers mentioned that this is normal for children like her as they are always coped up at home and they do not have siblings to play with. They will tend to see this as a release away from the four walls at home. So what is the conclusion, we decided to send her to full day child care, despite mil’s dismay. We had put in lots of thoughts about this, yes, we know she will be exposed to falling sick (we’ll take it as building her immunity system). She might be bullied (she will have to learn to be stronger). She is too dependent (let learn to be independent). And her lots of displeasure, but we still want to send her as we think it will have more benefits than anything else. I do understand where mil is coming from but we have no choice, she has no playmate. SHE IS LONELY at home! Not talking about teaching her, she only has the TV and mil to accompany her for the rest of the days. She is so bored! We are now school hunting for her and its not an easy task. Good luck to us all.
Almost diaperless
As most of my friends know, we had difficulty to train Sherry to go diaperless. Despite all hoaxing, she just simply refused. One fine day, after brain washing her for a long time (saying she is a princess and cannot wear diapers, things like this) she suddenly say she is a big girl and a princess cannot wear diapers and has to go to the toilet to urine. She did it in 1 day! Well, we are all so surprised and we just let her be. As the days goes by, she is now getting used to either urine at the potty or in the toilet.
Lately, we are trying to let her go diaperless when she goes to school. MIL is training her to go urine before she goes to school and found that she is dry when she comes back. So we are targeting at this for the time being. We are also trying this method for her afternoon nap. We’ll wake her up to urine when she naps for too long, mil will just have to sit there and accompany her.
The last thing is will be to train her to do her big business. She is unable to overcome the ‘fear’ to do it in the potty or toilet. This is something we are all still very puzzled. But we are not pushing her, we’ll just let her be. Who knows in no time, she will tell us that she does not want to do it in the diaper anymore!
Other than all the above, she is getting naughtier each day. She knows are her limits but she is always trying to push them. The questions like what happened, why like this has surfaced. We have to do lots of explanation to certain things she asked.
So much about that little princess, here’s something about me. Its nothing fantastic but just want to say that I’m official a PA to my Regional MD. There is no turning back for me to be in Finance line. I’m taking this risk as I’m tired of rushing for month end, quarter end and year end closing. Now my concentration is on Sherry and would like to spend more time with her. With this new role, I hope I would be able to achieve work life balance.

Finally, what an achievement!!!
Today is one most important day for Sherry. She managed to express her urge to urine in the toilet.
She had been telling me that she wants to urine in the toilet since Tuesday. She expressed her needs to MIL and myself. But we brought her to the toilet bowl, she just wee a little and she just cannot do the complete job.
Yesterday, she was having her shower and when MIL was drying her, she expressed her needs to urine. She managed to do the full job in the toilet and she is so proud of herself. She kept telling MIL that she is a good girl that she had urine in the toilet bowl. She even says that she does not want to put on the pull up pants anymore.
Well done my princess! Mummy is so proud of you!!!

How Long?????
I had really lost count of when was the last time i updated my blog. I know it has been ages. There are plenty of updates about what has happened but I do not have the time to blog them down. so sad... :(
First of all, update on my career. There was a change in my career path when my VP offered me to be his PA. After much thinking and discussion with my family, I agreed to take up this offer hopefully I can learn lots of things. End of Jan 07 will be the end of the 3 mths trial period to take up this new role. Hope he is happy or at least glad with my work.
Next, on Sherry. We had enrolled her on the holiday program so as to keep her occupied during the long holidays. Surprisingly, she really enjoyed her chef @ work program. Whenever she come across some baking cake session, she can even tell me that she had done all these in school. Interesting. Now she is back to school and we were quite worried that she will not be able to cope all over again, but once again, she surprised all of us. May be my little princess is really grown up whilst we are still treating her like a little baby.
Finally, on Me. Just feel so tired but still have to hang on to everything that is coming my way. My work has taken so much of my time. Nowadays, I left the office late, not to mention the frequency of meeting my buddy and also had been working more late nights than ever. Hopefully my FC will be able to come to my rescue soon. There are some plans that are carried out to relief some of my workload, so that I can perform better.
Looking at the bright side of things, this is something I had been telling myself. Soon I should be able to see the other side of the rainbow. Jia You!!!
