Update about Sherry
Decision to send her to Child care
She is getting on well with her classes at Tumble Tots. The only worrying thing is she as she is the only child at home, she tends to be very playful and is not paying attention in class. Teachers mentioned that this is normal for children like her as they are always coped up at home and they do not have siblings to play with. They will tend to see this as a release away from the four walls at home. So what is the conclusion, we decided to send her to full day child care, despite mil’s dismay. We had put in lots of thoughts about this, yes, we know she will be exposed to falling sick (we’ll take it as building her immunity system). She might be bullied (she will have to learn to be stronger). She is too dependent (let learn to be independent). And her lots of displeasure, but we still want to send her as we think it will have more benefits than anything else. I do understand where mil is coming from but we have no choice, she has no playmate. SHE IS LONELY at home! Not talking about teaching her, she only has the TV and mil to accompany her for the rest of the days. She is so bored! We are now school hunting for her and its not an easy task. Good luck to us all.
Almost diaperless
As most of my friends know, we had difficulty to train Sherry to go diaperless. Despite all hoaxing, she just simply refused. One fine day, after brain washing her for a long time (saying she is a princess and cannot wear diapers, things like this) she suddenly say she is a big girl and a princess cannot wear diapers and has to go to the toilet to urine. She did it in 1 day! Well, we are all so surprised and we just let her be. As the days goes by, she is now getting used to either urine at the potty or in the toilet.
Lately, we are trying to let her go diaperless when she goes to school. MIL is training her to go urine before she goes to school and found that she is dry when she comes back. So we are targeting at this for the time being. We are also trying this method for her afternoon nap. We’ll wake her up to urine when she naps for too long, mil will just have to sit there and accompany her.
The last thing is will be to train her to do her big business. She is unable to overcome the ‘fear’ to do it in the potty or toilet. This is something we are all still very puzzled. But we are not pushing her, we’ll just let her be. Who knows in no time, she will tell us that she does not want to do it in the diaper anymore!
Other than all the above, she is getting naughtier each day. She knows are her limits but she is always trying to push them. The questions like what happened, why like this has surfaced. We have to do lots of explanation to certain things she asked.
So much about that little princess, here’s something about me. Its nothing fantastic but just want to say that I’m official a PA to my Regional MD. There is no turning back for me to be in Finance line. I’m taking this risk as I’m tired of rushing for month end, quarter end and year end closing. Now my concentration is on Sherry and would like to spend more time with her. With this new role, I hope I would be able to achieve work life balance.
